BSNL Partners With OTTplay to Deliver Quality Entertainment to Users

At this point, it's hard to determine what exactly BSNL is trying to achieve. Just when we start to think they’re moving towards greater uniformity, BSNL surprises us with unexpected and unconventional decisions. The latest in this series is their new partnership with OTTplay.

BSNL & OTTplay Join Hands

BSNL has partnered with OTTplay to provide entertainment content to users for free, but here’s the catch – it’s currently available only in Pondicherry. For those unfamiliar, OTTplay is an OTT aggregator known for collaborating with broadband providers, and as expected, this service is linked to BSNL FTTH.

This service although only available in Pondicherry to BSNL's Mobile User but soon to be available in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar & Jharkhand in January 2025 & later in rest of India.

This new service BiTV will offer 300+ Live TV Channels, Webseries & Movies to BSNL user base.

The Bigger Concern: Lack of Uniformity

While this move might seem promising at first, it raises some significant questions. BSNL recently launched BSNL Live TV, but now, with their partnership with OTTplay, they’ve introduced a separate service called BiTV. This has led to confusion among users: why is there such a lack of consistency in their offerings? Why create overlapping services instead of streamlining and improving existing ones?

It is like they are doing random projects all at once without having will to actually make them usable or stable for anyone

While the partnership with OTTplay might be a step towards modernizing their services, the lack of clarity and uniformity in BSNL's approach leaves many users puzzled. Will this strategy pay off, or will it further alienate their customer base? Only time will tell.
